Bedtime Stories

Anyone who has ever been at our house for bedtime knows that it is a very exciting time.  The boys look forward to story time because Daddy tells the very best stories.
Scooby-Doo stories, of course.
Usually someone steals a race car or our toys or even an entire arcade.  It is the boys mission to summon Scooby and gang to help us solve the mystery.
The monster is usually someone we know.  If you know Leyton and Redding, you (yes, you) have probably been the monster.
You may have even stolen an entire fleet of monster trucks.
Shame on you.
(Redding's poor broken foot)

The stories are very funny!

We have to "pull the monsters head off" to reveal the monster.  Just like in Scooby!

Happy boy!

Now the race is on...

Nana and Randy came for a visit so we did something that anyone at any age can enjoy:
Go-Carts and mini golf!
I drive like an old lady, Randy got spun out by a girl (but then redeemed himself to man status when he ate an entire pizza by himself), Leyton is the fastest race car driver ever, Dennis enjoyed the go-carts more than anyone, and Nana was soaking in all the love from the grand kids!

Redding's Money Train

The other day, I could hear Redding emptying out his piggy bank. So I run upstairs and this is what I see...Redding in his "Money Train"Redding said to me "Mommy, I'm in my money train. Want to get in? We can go where ever we want to. But only to Toys-R-Us!" Cute boy!

Michael Phelps, Watch Yourself!

Leyton is taking swimming lessons this summer and his swimming skills have greatly improved. He can swim without assistance for small distances and he loves to jump in the pool. No fear anymore, which is both good and bad.

This is the first summer, ever, that we have really had pool access and we are enjoying every minute of it. Not only do we have our neighborhood pool, we also have access to the pool at the YMCA. We love having pool access without actually having a pool. Sometimes, we pack up dinner and go to the pool and eat. We let the kids play for an hour or so and then head home. They are usually pretty wiped out and everyone sleeps well!
