The boys love their Da...

Dennis and the boys are usually running around like madmen.
On occasion, the house is quiet.
This is what I usually find...

"Here Mommy"

This is the new look

I am trying to teach Leyton about the "circle of life". We have a small garden in our backyard with tomatoes, peppers, garlic, basil, and cilantro growing. Unfortunately, I don't have anything but a little basil and cilantro to harvest yet.
Since Leyton has never met a berry he didn't like, we took him strawberry and raspberry picking. We took him last summer but he was still a little too small to completely enjoy it. This year, he was totally into it. He left with a strawberry Fu Manchu, red teeth, and was probably two pounds heavier.

After that, we took Leyton to golf course so that he could putt around on the putting green (Unfortunately the batteries went dead on my camera from taking so many pictures at the orchard so I did not get any pictures). He would have stayed for hours if we could have, he did NOT want to leave.

Feeling right at home. At the zoo.

Since we have a membership to the Bronx Zoo, we went there quite a bit last summer. This was our first visit as a family (I had previously taken the boys on my own) and we had a blast.
I think Leyton enjoyed the butterfly exhibit the most, maybe because he could chase the butterflies around. The gorilla exhibit was an adventure for him as well. Especially since he had a front row seat to a baby gorilla fight. Hopefully he doesn't try any of those moves on Redding!
Redding was just happy to ride around in the snugli all day.

Big ouchie

Leyton likes to help Dennis with all the yard work. He walks around pushing his dump truck mimicking Dennis cutting the grass.

Dennis had just finished cutting the grass the other day and Leyton was trying to push the lawn mower on his own. He then decided he wanted to investigate the motor. The words "don't touch the motor" were coming out of my mouth. Unfortunately, my sound waves were not moving as quickly as his hand. This is what we were left with...

Leyton loves to build and could do it for hours. Sometimes he color coordinates the blocks and sorts them before embarking upon his mission. He has a vision before he begins...

3 Years

Three years ago today, we found out we were pregnant with Leyton!

We love you Bud, ever since the day we found out about you!

Merry Maids

Leyton is into helping mommy do everything.

If I vacuum, he must hold the vacuum too. If I am unloading the dishwasher, he must help put the dishes away (which he has actually gotten pretty good at). He is REALLY good at throwing the laundry down the stairs into the laundry room, this is a game for him. What two year old doesn't like to throw things?

I sure hope this trend continues. Why do I have a feeling it won't?

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

This post is a few days late but we have been busy with the flu.
So, I wanted to say a GIANT Happy Father's Day to Dennis.
The boys love their "Da".
Dennis got the pleasure of taking BOTH boys to the doctor on Monday. He then stayed home with them while I worked.
How many Dads are brave enought to stay home alone for 8 hours with a sick 2 year old and a sick 4 month old?

Hey Leyton, you have strawberries in your teeth...

The fruit has been so good lately. Leyton is really enjoying the strawberries and blueberries. We may go blueberry picking in a few days.
Until the, the store bought berries will have to do...Leyton doesn't seem to mind.

Flu Season is NEVER over!

So, Redding looks pretty healthy here! But he did not feel well...
Leyton, on the other hand, is not feeling so good and his face tells the story!

So, both of the boys have the flu, or had the flu. Go figure, in June.

Leyton nor Redding had been feeling well so we took them both to the doctor. In addition to the flu, Leyton has an ear infection.

We thought that Redding had croup. Then we thought he had a viral bronchial infection. Then they decided he had the flu too. Thank goodness for breastfeeding, per the doctor. Babies this young can be hospitalized for the flu but thankfully for "mommy-milk", we had a little extra protection.
Right now, the house is being aired out and all sheets washed, beds wiped down, and couches being sanitized. We need to get rid of this flu bug! It is after all, JUNE!

Now, about how to debug the boys...

Ah, boys!

Leyton has gotton very creative with building things! Maybe he will be an architect?

The boys are growing so much every day! Leyton is ALMOST 100% potty trained. Aside from peeing on the floor in Stew Leonards, he is doing well wearing underwear out in public. I think I know where every toilet is in the places we visit frequently.

Redding is talking up a storm and laughing alot. He thinks Leyton is hilarious. He isn't rolling over yet but he is trying.

Potty Training at its finest

Redding in his Bumbo seat

We are in the midst of potty training Leyton. Boy, the things people never told you! Leyton is doing very well though. He uses the potty at school all the time. At home, we aren't so lucky. We are working on it though. Today, he used Redding's Bumbo Seat as the potty.

Awesome.

Good thing he is "too cute".

That Bumbo seat will never be the same...
