Time for ear lowering

Before (I miss the curls)During (Redding did not want to say goodbye to his curls)
After (enjoying his lollipop treat) Leyton, handling his haircut like a pro Enjoying his treat (hygienists do occasionally give their children lollipops) Admiring his new lookIt was that time. Time for haircuts for the Thomas boys.

This was the first haircut for Redding and the first time Leyton had his buzzed. Since we were going to the beach, we thought it was a good fit. And it was. He loves it!

Redding did not like the process of having his hair cut. However, it was a success. I do miss his curls!

Peach Picking

That's the one Daddy!
Here Mommy.
Eating an apple. Too bad apples weren't ready. Redding loves apples!
One of our bags of loot.We missed strawberry and blueberry picking this year but managed to make it to pick peaches. The peaches were delicious and we had PLENTY since they make you purchase a bag for every two people. Sadly, the boys refused to eat the peaches leaving Dennis and I to eat many, many peaches.

Redzilla

While Leyton is playing with his trains, Redding has to do something to keep himself entertained. Leyton does share his trains on occasion, they are mostly "hands off" to Redding. Redding entertains himself with cars, balls, books, and ANYTHING that makes noise. He is a typical boy!
So, what else is he up to these days...
  • TALKING - Holy cow, the boy can talk. Mama, Dada, Waywen (Leyton), cup, milk, juice, SNACK, up, down, light, cheese, kiss, please, thank you, welcome, help, stuck, UH-OH, and the list goes on and on and on. Which is good. He is very verbal.
  • PLAYING - Running, jumping, hiding, harassing Leyton, climbing, giving mommy a heart attack. He has NO fear. I feel like Leyton was more cautious at this age.
  • EATING - We don't have many eating issues with him. This week anyway. We cannot believe how fast he is growing. Wow.
  • He has been really healthy. Well, today he has double pink eye. No fun.
  • POTTY TRAINING - Believe it or not, he is showing signs of readiness. We are going with it!

So handsome! Help! I've fallen... CheeseKiss Flying babyHiding from Daddy His new pajamas. Custom designed to keep him out of his diaper and preventing him from peeing on his bed every morning. He is in the beginning stages of potty training and does not like to pee in his diaper in the morning so he pees on his bed. As long as we hear him early enough, we can put him on the potty. Otherwise...

Trains are a boys best friend!

With all of the boys (and a few girls) Rosie going through the tunnel
The Train Drawer
Thank goodness for TRAINS! I know that most little boys like trains but Leyton LOVES trains! He can play for hours (well, minutes) and be perfectly content. He lines them up and puts them through inspection, he races them and talks to them. Leyton knows all of their names and their numbers. He will let you know if you call Henry, Percy!
We get the seal of approval from him when we make him a "really cool track", sometimes they are just "pretty cool". It is hard to stay creative in your track building skills! So Much Pressure!
We implemented a "star system" in our house in order to recognize good behavior (staying in his bed all night, being helpful, not beating up his brother...etc.). When he gets 10 stars, he gets $5. Many of his trains were actually purchased with his "star" money! Skarloey is the next train that he wants to add to his collection.
Great job, Leyton!
