Going on an adventure...

Leyton and Redding love to go on adventures with Mimi. The adventure takes place in Mimi and Geep's backyard. They usually look at the birds and help Geep with some light yard work (picking up sticks and finding the coolest leaves) but I think Leyton mostly likes to race!

Leyton very happy about his adventure!

Thomas the Train "Alive"

For Leyton's 4th birthday, we took him to see "Thomas the Train Live". He loved it and has since asked to go back every night. We have to tell him Thomas has left town and hopefully he will come again next year.

He was disappointed that Gordon was not included in the production but Gordon would have been too big for the stage!

Leyton enjoyed the "alone" time with just Mommy and Daddy.
He enjoyed the attention and I remembered how easy one kid is to manage!

Redding now wants to go to "ElmoSongAlive".

In the car on the way there. He was very excited! Modeling his new hat, which has become a fixture on his head

A Clay Day

Since the weather doesn't always allow us to enjoy the great outdoors,
we try to make the best of the great indoors.
For Christmas the boys got a giant tub of clay and we put it to good use today.
Leyton's awesome winning swan...
And my second place rooster...
Redding destroyed his dolphin before we could take a picture of it.
Brothers (looks like Leyton really just wants to strangle Redding) CHEESE!

Man, It's A Hot One (For January)

Some toys never get old! Riding along in my automobile... They had their very own demolition derby
Playing a little golf Leyton's golf cart And a little basketball... And doing a tune up...
Reason #Fourtyeightynine we love the south...WEATHER!
(Fourtyeightynine, per Leyton)
It was 60 Degrees...in January!
Not that every day is like this, but trust me, we did not get 60 degrees in January in Connecticut.
We were lucky to get 60 degrees in April...May!
I think we picked a good winter to move!

At least that is over...

I had a little surgery on my ankle on January 4th. The surgery went well (though some side effects from the medication set me back a little afterwards) and I had some really great nurses during my recovery.

Thanks to Dennis for taking care of me!
Thanks to Leyton and Redding for being such good boys!
And, a big "Thank you" to Mimi and Geep for taking up all my slack and helping out with the boys/housework/meals/...!

The boys being cooperative. They wanted to help me with my "big ouchie"
I think we stayed in our jammies for 4 days straight (different ones, of course)
Day of surgery

Bama Boys

As what has become a tradition from Aunt LaLa and Uncle James,
the boys received their Alabama gear at Christmas.

Trying to be affectionate without hitting or biting is tough!
